In a true international friendship, today 7 August, our Club Chairman for Polio Plus Programme, Rtn. Elumperiyar and Past President Rtn. Magdoom Mohamed had a video call with Rtn. Kirk Driksell, Governor of District 6900. Rtn. Paddy Sharma of Rotary Club of Lake Spivey Clayton County of District 6900 initiated the call. Dr. Senthilprabhu, the doctor from Government Children Hospital, Egmore joined the disussion. They exchanged wide range of issues including pulse polio immunisation programme, response to covid-19 pandemic and on our recent global grant project to provide rainwater harvesting system in 10 public schools in Chennai. Governor Kirk appreciated the frienship our Club has with his District 6900.

Rotarians from USA, Austria and Netherlands visit us to participate in our Diamond Jubilee Celebration of our Club this week. A proud moment as we celebrate 60 years of service and friendship. Truly a Rotary moment.

Our annette Niyam Jhabakh, daughter of Chethan Jhabakh, studying in Lille, France attended a Rotary meeting of Rotary Club Lille Sud, France on 5th December, and received a flag from the Club President. A proud moment for our Club, annette attending a Rotary meeting in a foreign country.

Sister club agreement was signed with RC of Pasadena on Oct 16, 2018 during Rtn Catherine Simms visit to our club. Rtn. Catherine Simms, Rotary Club of Pasadena spoke about Rotary club of Pasadena which is going to celebrate centenary in coming March 2019 and Shared her experiences on how this partnership blossomed and the Caring for the Little hearts project.

Our Club jointly with Del Mar Salona Beach Rotary, San Diego, USA supported Kumaran Special School, Ennore with 'Learning Expansion Programme' giving them educational toys, chairs, tables and a better atmosphere of learning. The school houses about 40 children requiring special attention. On May 5, 2018, the project was completed and the facilities dedicated to the students of the school. Thanks to Manav, a student of American School in Chennai, this project was identified and referred to us. A worthy project and out time well spent making a difference.

Caring for Little Hearts, pediatric open heart surgery project of our Club, jointly with Passadena Rotary Club, USA, benefits 225 children. Our members contribute their time and resource for the project. Periodical visit to Sooriya Hospital where the project is on-going is heart touching experience where we spend our time with the children getting treatment there.
